Iga-Ueno Castle, Iga

(3.7/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
Perched on top of a hill and dating back to 1585, Iga-Ueno Castle was once the site of a 16th-century three-story castle. Today, find a three-story white-walled structure where inside you'll find a museum featuring items such as a woven hat, a traditional tea jar, and samurai relics. A 30 m (98 ft) wall was built around the original castle during the early 17th century, and since its construction it still holds the record as Japan's tallest castle wall. You can walk around the complex and still find the walls standing strong. • The IGA railway from IGA-kambe station, 25 minutes from the Iga-Ueno Station arrived in seven minutes. Couldn't overlook the Ueno train station, has become the centerpiece of the local. It was a castle of air in the atmosphere.

  • Ueno Castle is a very manageable size that one can easily cover in conjunction with a visit to the ninja museum on the same hill within the same park. It contains period art and various artifacts.
  • amazing place to see ninja show
  • My favourite castle in Japan after Matsumoto, Iga is the home of Japan's Ninja traditions and this is where it used to happen. This castle has been rebuilt, so it isn't the original, but the castle wall is the tallest in Japan high above a moat and the atmosphere my favourite to walk around and imagine a time gone by.
  • Nice village
