  • I've been wanting to visit Geibikei for around 2 years and I finally went there yesterday and it didn't disappoint. The boat trip is so beautiful and relaxing. The tour guide is obviously in Japanese so I couldn't understand a great deal but you can get an English guide book with points of interest along the route. The gorge itself is so beautiful. Highly recommend if you want to visit somewhere that is beautiful and relaxing.
  • Relaxing place!! Love Geibikei & the boat ride 💗💗💗 I wish I had more time there. They let us walk around only 20 mins, that was to short to enjoy such beauty.
  • Absolutely gorgeous, and that was in the off season! Very friendly staff, happy to attempt English if they can. The traditional folk song on the way back was fantastic!
  • Very peaceful place and nice scenary
  • Quiet, peaceful town for a short stroll. Note that the train station only has one track and has no entry booth. Check the train timings to make sure you dont board the wrong direction, and pay and your destination. The Gorge boat tour is about 10 minutes walk from the station. Its an hour long boat ride, woth tickets costing 1200yen if i remember correctly. Definitely go for it, the gorge is very serene and exudes an atmosphere of real calm. You can feed koi fish with food for 50yen per packet, which they sell on the boat. Spot amazing rock formations and majestic birds of prey as well. At the end of the gorge, the boat stops for about 20 minutes for you to explore by foot and take photos. On the way back, the rower sings a traditonal Japanese song which adds to the cultural experience.
