Makiba Park, Hokuto
(3.7/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Watch sheep, goats, cows, rabbits, and ponies grazing freely at Makiba Park, a Yamanashi prefectural park with vast swathes of grazing land set against a backdrop of Mount Fuji and Mount Yatsugatake. Children can pet the animals by a pond, and you can learn about native Tokara goats and other local species from information tables. Keep an eye out for forest birds, and head to observation decks with white wooden fences providing views over the impressive surrounding scenery. Grab a bite at the onsite restaurant, which offers delicious hamburgers with fresh homegrown lettuce and tomatoes. You can make use of up to 82 free parking spaces at the park. Put Makiba Park into our Hokuto itinerary planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Hokuto.

  • Sheep and goats roam and the broad green. Vivid green, blue sky, the distant mountains. Business was to walk freely without care, animals and forced people on to is not large in heart is healed. That hurts my heart to see the animals are trapped in the narrow and not worry about here. Wi-Fi is also a souvenir shop. Mind is washed with magnificent views. Definitely want to go again!
