  • Not to catch is the one downtown. I think city building is unique in a sense. Half-day shopping and dining, guests can enjoy relaxing.

  • This place stretches in many directions as you walk along it. That said, there are better arcades offering more interesting wares and restaurants.  more »
  • See the impressive Memorial Peace Park (Heiwa Kinen Kōen) was the only reason why we we move to Hiroshima, within the trip by Japan made last summer. I suppose that like us, the majority of visitors to the city come with the clear idea of this visit, but, nevertheless, Hiroshima has other areas that can be attractive. There is much activity in the center of Hiroshima City and one of the most attractive points of this area is the childhood pedestrian Hondori Street, closed to traffic and filled with all kinds of shops and restaurants that offer all the typical dishes of the country. Although aesthetically it cannot be said that it is a place of great beauty, has its appeal and why is the pedestrian Gallery with roof more known of the city. Only has about 500 meters, but you can find all kinds of shops for the enjoyment of visitors (more than 200 shops). The street begins near the peace Park and extends eastward to end at Parco Shopping Mall. Hondori is a parallel to Aioi Street, where are some department stores and shops can be found. We went to this place to end our visit to Hiroshima and be able to buy a souvenir to take home. Take a walk around this area and benefit from eating the typical dish of Hiroshima is worth. It is just a five-minute tram ride or 20 minutes walk from Hiroshima Station. Hon Dori Shotengai, or simply 'Hondori', is the main street for shopping and entertainment. Recommended and, I would say that indispensable if it is to Hiroshima. Greetings to all travelers

Where to stay in Hiroshima

The majority of places to stay in Hiroshima concentrate in the areas surrounding the train station, the memorial museum and park, and a couple of main boulevards. Here you can find basic, comfortable, and clean hostels, dozens of mid-range business hotels, and a couple of pricier four- and five-star international chains, all of which offer easy access to any of the sights in this compact city. For an adventurous and very affordable overnight stay in Hiroshima, you can even sleep in private pods attached to the train station's south side.
