Otemae Street, Himeji

Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
3.1/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web
Set against the background of Himeji Castle, a World Heritage Site, Otemae Street makes a very attractive stroll stretching some 1.2 km (0.75 mi) from Himeji station to the castle. Offering a superb view of the castle, which sits high atop a hill at the far end of the street, this nicely paved, tree-lined boulevard provides great vibes and good photo opportunities. Sit on a bench and feel the energy of local life, or admire numerous bronze statues by famous Japanese sculptors. Rows of camphor and ginkgo trees provide shade as you wander past restaurants and browse through simple flea market stalls. • We think if go by bus or walking, we opted for the second and the truth was worth, move through slowly helps you to see places that otherwise pass desapecibidos. You see different typical products shops, a Christian Church, people walk, finally it is extremely pleasant in summer since the weather helps, not too cold, not so warm that you can not enjoy. Slowly is will shape the Castle so arriving, it unfolds with all its greatness, the best part is that the journey is on foot and obviously costs more than the time you invest to get. Ah, if you like good sake, there is one of the more traditional shops a few blocks from the Castle. You will not regret, only thing is that they do not accept card payments.
