Otemae Street, Himeji

3.1
#6 of 103 in Things to do in Himeji
Set against the background of Himeji Castle, a World Heritage Site, Otemae Street makes a very attractive stroll stretching some 1.2 km (0.75 mi) from Himeji station to the castle. Offering a superb view of the castle, which sits high atop a hill at the far end of the street, this nicely paved, tree-lined boulevard provides great vibes and good photo opportunities. Sit on a bench and feel the energy of local life, or admire numerous bronze statues by famous Japanese sculptors. Rows of camphor and ginkgo trees provide shade as you wander past restaurants and browse through simple flea market stalls. It is from the station straight to the Himeji Castle gate road. Taxi rank, such as several buildings and the SANYO Electric Railway station, and bus station. I think, including trail width wide so if you're gay, to the Castle ambled try too good?.

Where to stay in Himeji

The UNESCO-protected castle brings plenty of visitors to Himeji, so the quiet city possesses enough accommodations to be able to suit their eclectic tastes and diverse budgets. Located in clusters among the main commercial squares close to the train station, you'll find the main hotels, including budget and luxury options. Look to the side streets of this central district for a fair selection of hostels and guesthouses. The high speed train service connecting Himeji to Osaka and Kyoto means that many visitors choose to visit during a day trip from one of these large cities.
