Mountain
Climb to the top of Mount Misen, the highest peak on Miyajima island. Choose from three hiking trails taking different routes to the summit, the longest of which offers the most scenic views and takes a couple of hours to complete. You can also take the ropeway lift to a certain point near the peak, and enjoy the scenery from the air along the way. Trek through primeval forest and see various plants and rock formations, or pay a visit to the observatory on the summit for panoramic views of the sea, and even Hiroshima on a clear day. Work out when and for how long to visit Mount Misen and other Hatsukaichi attractions using our handy Hatsukaichi travel itinerary maker.
