(4.7/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Climb to the top of Mount Misen, the highest peak on Miyajima island. Choose from three hiking trails taking different routes to the summit, the longest of which offers the most scenic views and takes a couple of hours to complete. You can also take the ropeway lift to a certain point near the peak, and enjoy the scenery from the air along the way. Trek through primeval forest and see various plants and rock formations, or pay a visit to the observatory on the summit for panoramic views of the sea, and even Hiroshima on a clear day. • Three paths to choose, we went by the Daisho-in and his collection of small Buddhas scattered along the way. Down by Omoto, through the forest. Nice walk of about 3 hours ROUND-TRIP, excluding the stop at the top. Take water, there is not on the way.
