Miyazawa Kenji Memorial, Hanamaki
(3.4/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Each year, more than 200,000 people visit Miyazawa Kenji Memorial, a museum detailing the extraordinary life and accomplishments of an internationally acclaimed Japanese polymath poet known for his fairy tales. Set in the author’s former home, where he spent his last days teaching agronomy, this fine museum reveals Kenji’s interests and accomplishments as an educator, farmer, scientist, and utopian social reformer. Browse through the author’s original manuscripts and drawings, personal belongings, and library, before trying interactive displays of Kenji’s experiments. Unfortunately, very little of the museum's material has been translated into English. Miyazawa Kenji Memorial is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Hanamaki Edition.
