Hamamatsu Flower Park, Hamamatsu

#1 of 29 in Parks in Hamamatsu
Tulips, orchids, cherry blossom trees, and 100,000 more plants decorate Hamamatsu Flower Park. Take a stroll and visit the large cacti collection, flower sculptures, koi and duck ponds, and the greenhouse with themed gardens. In the fountain in front of the greenhouse, the water dances to music in a show that starts every 30 minutes. Children can let off some steam at the many playgrounds around the park, and if you're too tired to walk, enjoy a ride on the Flower Train, a locomotive-style tour bus. • You can pluck your own orange, apple, grapes and other fruits. Need to pay off course! But very lovely for those who have not seen fruits growing from a tree.
  • Scenic place in Hamamatsu, with huge variaties of flora. The entrance fee is 900yen (at the time of writing), but with 1050yen you can get the package of both flower park and zoo. Worth it!
  • This is a beautiful place for a walk, especially in spring when many flowers are blooming. If you live in the area, I recommend the yearly passport which gives you year long access for just 2,400 yen. A one time entrance ticket costs 600 yen.
  • come when on spring, lot of spring's and summer flower were there. Much relaxed.
  • should go in may and june. possible to see fireflies

Where to stay in Hamamatsu

Hamamatsu offers a wide selection of mid-range and low budget lodgings, lining both sides of the rail lines and spreading towards the north in Asahicho and Kajimachi. A few four-star options downtown and a number of ryokans offer onsens, while boutique hotels and hostels cluster in the north. An industrial city with a sizeable student population, Hamamatsu has plenty of inexpensive accommodations. Staying in the popular Sunayama Cho area south of the railway station puts you in close proximity to the river and seaside.
