Hamamatsu Air Park, Hamamatsu

See a large collection of aircraft at Hamamatsu Air Park, an aviation museum located next to an operational air base. Learn the history of the Japan Air Self Defence Force, and the evolution of the planes used. Some of the vehicles sit outside in the open, but it's in the main hangar that you really get a sense of the scale and variety of the planes. Climb aboard a fighter jet to see the inner workings of the cockpit, and make sure to have your photo taken wearing pilot overalls and a helmet. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Hamamatsu trip simple and quick.

  • Little fighter exhibits and information wanted. Free rental of pilot suit and passed their own camera will shoot pictures in the cockpit. Maybe think the self-defense ALUMNUS who you see "hospitality attitude! There is no sky round theater is worth a look for people who are used to seeing Hollywood movies. Fell asleep in the Middle, without anything impressive.

  • Read the many corners, including the introduction of the SDF character hard-and I thought the fun's exhibition spaces such as aircraft! Rental binder is also free of charge, actually riding in the cockpit that can take pictures! Fun-.-I would enjoy free of charge so it's great. It is recommended!

  • War or difficult for many thing I don't argue. Inspiring features beauty of ASDF disaster relief or to tackle the role or the plane. I think moderation and dignified people in the Hall, work attitude is great.

  • Had no interest in army and stuff but enjoyed activities there especially with the kids. No charge for entry or parking. Free pilot jump suit rental was the best part.
  • Great museum for the Japan Air Self Defence Forces. Main exhibits are free, they have special events throughout the year, and they are super great for kids. They have some planes with open cockpits and what seem like retired JASDF personnel to help you or your kids sit in them and will answer any questions you have. You can even fiddle with the controls and flick switches, etc. The only downside is that basically no info is available in English (or any language other than Japanese), which is always my complaint about museums in Japan. I did see a sign about an audio guide, but I never figured out where to get it. Also, getting to it is a bit of a pain if you don't have a car, but don't let that stop you!
  • A superb well presented aircraft museum with lots to see and do and for all ages . Free entry too !
  • It's good to bring your kids here. Learn about air defence and jet fighter😬😀
  • Awesome, cool museum for JSDF/aircraft fans! And the main displays are free! You can also wear a flight suit and sit in some of the cockpits. Worth the trip if you're interested in this sort of thing. Unfortunately, only the specifications are listed in English. Descriptions are actually rather limited in Japanese, too. They could've discussed a lot more regarding each craft's usage, history, and other information.
