You can choose from several villages to stay in, some attached to ski resorts and well-connected to each other by bus lines. A variety of affordable lodgings cluster near the ski bases and the popular villages of Happo and Echoland, including chalets, apartments, backpacker-style hostels, and even budget-friendly lodges where you sleep on traditional Japanese futons.   • Ski Hakuba mid feb 2017. Multiple mtns in Hakuba, Happo one is the largest. All mountains have shorter runs than the us but snow quality is superb and lift lines short.  more »
