We could not go on Japan without experiencing a relaxing swim in an onsen and so did in Hakone. It's really rewarding to take these hot spring baths in an environment of nature in the middle of the mountain. two sections there is exactly the same, one for women and another for men, bath becomes completely naked and have to groom themselves well in previous showers before entering the grounds of bathrooms. The establishment has a relaxation area with armchairs and comfortable spaces in the soil and also has a restaurant where we ate a delicious typical menu. In short, great experience in amazing surroundings.

Accommodation in Hiromi Okada Pupp or Hakone forest Hiromi Okada would be so happy for free in the hot springs, this GUI can also be provided here if you do not stay hot springs. This hot spring is great here, there is a large open-air hot spring Samadhi, bubbles happy 賞-view very well.

Unfortunately we came to Hakone and couldn't see Mount Fuji due to weather conditions. Our hotel had limited conditions, since we only had hot springs and karaoke. All our meals were at the hotel. We ...  more »

As long as you drive by yourself, this hotel and hot spring would be the best choice among them. Room was spacious and provide nice view over hakone valley. Half board was so so. Fried shrimp was already cooled and orher things are not si much delicious. Breakfirst was good but the staffs were unkind and rude to arrange foreiners not to sit window side but dark corner. This happening make our travel bad feeling.

Although it is an old hotel, the facilities were kept clean and tidy. I tried the Japanese Style room, the room is big and comfort. The bath is covered by canopies such that you can enjoy it in any weather. Pay attention that although Google Map said it is 18 min away from 箱根湯本 Station, the actual journey took me more than 40 mins with long and steepy road. Shuttle bus ¥100 per person recommened.

Good place for relaxation while sight-seeing. Place is well hidden from the rest of hot spring hotels. Hidden treasure indeed.

A great place for Hakone visitors with friendly and accommodating staff.

Was really good. The hot spring near by was absolutely amazing.

Where to stay in Hakone-machi

A getaway close to the capital, Hakone-machi offers a good range of accommodations, with a particular emphasis on luxury and upmarket hotels. Spa resort-style hotels, often with extensive views of the iconic volcano, sit in the main tourist areas, with their spa facilities using naturally warmed waters from the hot springs around the area. The more densely populated areas to the east house a good number of simple guesthouses and hostels. Staying in Tokyo and taking day trips remains an option for many visitors.
