Venetian Glass Museum, Hakone-machi
(4/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Admire over a hundred pieces of antique glassware at Venetian Glass Museum. The museum’s display of Venetian glassware forms part of the private collection of Sadao Ukai, who had a penchant for intricate vases, tableware, lamps, and other glass pieces, mainly dating from the 15th to the 18th centuries. Besides the antique pieces, the museum also exhibits modern sculptures made out of Venetian glass. Rent a costume and a carnival mask for some fun photo ops, take a glass art-making class, or relax in the museum’s cafe and enjoy the mountain views. • I went when they just started a glass Christmas tree. Glitter was very beautiful, lit up the evening. But had gone unnoticed, such as the Christmas tree in the autumn was at their best. Also liked it because it had held exhibitions of Venetian glass, many displayed a delicate lacework glass were impressive.

  • Very beautiful scenic area. Lots to time and shipping as well. Variety in the cafe was slim and sold out of the popular croissants with the jams inside. Other than that, still a gorgeous place to visi...  more »
  • Rainy day in Hakone is feeling a little regrettable, but comes here, was excellent. Museum of art is also beautiful, shining work of art in the background mountains of Hakone, everywhere seemed to be landscape paintings. The period of Venetian glass exhibition is worth seeing. In souvenir shops and eating, soak canzone singer at the restaurant, spend a very pleasant time. Umbrella of the public out there everywhere, open to visitors when not luggage. It is a mood would not come if it were fine and I think, thanks to rain.
