Trip Planner: Asia / Japan / Kanto / Kanagawa Prefecture / Ashigarashimo-gun / Hakone-machi / Little Prince Museum
Step into scenes from one of the world's most read and best loved children's books at Little Prince Museum, a museum and park dedicated to Antoine de Saint-Exupery's classic. Stroll around the small village, designed to look like the illustrations of France pored over endlessly by readers of "The Little Prince." Learn about the author's childhood, and the inspirations which went into the magical tale, as you go through the museum, seeing a recreation of his childhood bedroom and the room in which he wrote the famous story. Rest up in the onsite cafe, serving an array of French dishes with a distinctly Japanese twist. Little Prince Museum is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , custom trip planner Edition.

Little Prince Museum reviews
The museum gave me a deeper knowledge about the life of the author of The Little Prince. It also tackled loads of historical connection to the book. I just wish the movie about little prince and... more »
Interesting small museum close to Hakone Highland hotel. Should be visited if you with kids in this area to introduce this famous book and get taste of French townscape and garden. more »
Even if you are a fan of The Little Prince, I would still say the museum seems overpriced. The gardens are very pretty, but small. You can walk around the property and see re-created buildings and..... more »
Adorable tribute to The Little Prince. Exhibits are a bit dated, but kept up quite well. A cute window into the Japanese interpretation of romanticized Frenchness.
Little Prince Museum is an interesting venue if you are interested in taking photos of European buildings and a big fan for the novel. English translation booklet can be borrowed at the entrance of the exhibition. Audio guides are on loan in addition to the entrance ticket price. Recommend visit time is around 1 hour.
Can see improvements over the years. Should provide free parking though. Very nice souvenirs.
At first my boyfriend and I weren't sure if we should go in because of the ticket price but since other museums were much more pricy, we went in and had a great time there! We learned so much about the author and his life story. The exhibition was very well-curated and intricate it felt as if we were experiencing the author's life personally. Highly recommended to those who visit the Hakone area!
Love this place so much! The Romantic Starry Night show is beautiful and enjoyable!
