Hakone Shrine / Kuzuryu Shrine Singu, Hakone-machi
Categories: Historic Sites, Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Tucked away on the forested shores of Lake Ashi, Hakone Shrine / Kuzuryu Shrine Singu stands as one of the nation's major Shinto sites. Founded originally in the 8th century, the complex includes buildings that date back to the 1660s. The grounds feature an array of wooden structures with swooping rooftops and a distinctive black-and-red color scheme, all surrounded by dense cedar woods. Note that many dragons and dragon-like creatures from Japanese mythology adorn the interiors of the shrine's buildings, intended to protect the site from evil spirits. Don't miss the entryway of the main shrine--this red gate, just offshore in the waters of the lake, represents one of the most iconic scenes anywhere in the country. 箱根で一番有名な神社ですよね。 混雑すると聞いていたので、早めの時間帯に伺いました。 駐車場にもスムーズに駐車できました。 御朱印も素敵ですよ。 お勧めの神社です！It is the most famous Hakone shrine. Was crowded, so I heard in the early hours. Smooth was parked in the parking lot. Nokyo-Sho is fantastic. It is a shrine of recommended!show original

無料の駐車場もあり、とても立派な神社です。箱根の中では、一番大きな神社です。芦ノ湖のほとりにあり、近隣には、観光地がたくさんありますので便利です。Also offers free parking and is a splendid shrine. It is in Hakone, the biggest shrine. ASHI-is located on the banks of the Lake, there are a lot of tourist destinations nearby, so useful.show original
The shrine was nice, but I wasn't too impressed with Hakone in general. I kind of wish I had made a different decision for a day trip. The water gate was probably my favorite part here.
Beautifuuuuuuul! And only a few minutes by foot from Moto Hakone :)
LOVE this place!!!! The hot springs are to die for!
Last stop on the Fuji Hakone tour. Super windy but what a view.
Go early before the tourist come. Beautiful temple in the woods
