  • I went with the Hakone free pass, you can park free of charge. Because it was the middle of Winter Park was a sad impression. Spring and summer are also to go.

  • The little park, the station is on foot for about ten minutes, but it is more tired than uphill. At the beginning of November, there were not many red leaves, but it was quite a stroll. It is recommended to wait for the empty time of the bean curd pork chop in Tian Cun.

  • We visited this place on a rainy day with our Hakone Day pass. Entry is free if you have the day pass with you. With all the clouds around us, the park had looked very mysterious and beautiful, hiding its secrets and intriguing us enough to explore it. As we walked through the clouds it was interesting to spot the differences between the Zen gardens we had been seeing on our trip and the French Garden in front of us. Gora Park has a beautiful craft shop and two restaurants for you to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The Craft House has a huge collection of beads strings and other materials to make bracelets, necklace etc and it is fun for adults too. Isshikidousarou the sandwich restaurant served us the most amazing sandwiches I've ever had. With its classy ambience, I would not be surprised if they ever played Jazz live with a full house. Even the beverages are crisp and very refreshing. Sandwich in your hand and the view of the park through large windows is just out of this world. The other restaurant is more traditional and is a great option if you want a heavier meal. It is right next to the main fountain in the middle of the park. It is a great stop with children and I would recommend it for all weathers. Cheers to many more adventures
  • Great park as partly rosarium, partly japanese garden with big fontain. Refreshment. Workshop hall and shop. Autumn is stunning here and nearby surroundings.
  • Western style park but they have a small Japanese teahouse inside. For fall colours, next door garden at museum of art is better.
  • Pretty good flower garden park. The fountain at the center of this park is especially beautiful. Although this is a park, there is no space for playing baseball or that kind of stuff. Just enjoy its calm atmosphere!
  • Serene and well kept but small in size. Staff at the park were extremely friendly. Known for their craft house where art classes take place. We spent approximately 45 mins at the park.

Where to stay in Hakone-machi

A getaway close to the capital, Hakone-machi offers a good range of accommodations, with a particular emphasis on luxury and upmarket hotels. Spa resort-style hotels, often with extensive views of the iconic volcano, sit in the main tourist areas, with their spa facilities using naturally warmed waters from the hot springs around the area. The more densely populated areas to the east house a good number of simple guesthouses and hostels. Staying in Tokyo and taking day trips remains an option for many visitors.
