  • United Kingdom had consulates in Germany and 75 years from 1859 until 1934. • The building that looks like a mix between England and Japan. From the Old Public Hall, in front of Hakodate looking down to see the building on your right. Traveling by bus around the city park to Motomachi page walking down his bus on the way to the right to see the buildings, in.

  • This was a nice small museum of the former British Consulate. You can walk around the building and its garden for free, and you have to pay to view inside the building. However, the gift shop and the tea shop you can go in for free. The tea shop is a nice place to unwind for a cuppa, but I can't say I enjoyed their chocolate cake.
  • A nice place to take a break. There is a tea room here with a nice garden view that you can relax and enjoy traditional english tea, hot scones, fresh cream and delicious jam.
  • Quaint little museum retracing the history of the British consulate (as well as Perry's expedition). Their cafe is very nice; they offer a choice of tea, biscuits, cake and the other usual suspects.
  • A nice museum. You have to pay for entrance fee. There is a nice garden surround the building.
  • The accompanying tea room and their tea set was delicious!
