Historic Site
See where one of the Meji Restoration heroes, Yoshida Shoin, taught Japanese students of every social status at Shoka Village School. The tiny wooden and tiled roof school began as a single 13 sq m (139 sq ft) classroom with eight tatami floors. Eventually the students helped and added an additional room and 105 tatami floors. The celebrated teacher discussed the future of the nation here, inspiring many of his followers and students to become reformers of modern Japan. Inside, see the statue dedicated to the great mentor and photographs of the renowned reformers. • First thing in the morning to Shoin-Jinja shrine visited sonjuku, right next to you is written as a simple little building was surprising. It may be because it hedges around had been looped multicolored umbrella Fortune had increased sense of frugality. Very old house near Ito Hirobumi, was simple. Bakumatsu and Meiji Restoration often remember with humble thing is really nice.
