  • Set in an old school building, this place provides a good introduction to the old castle town itself. The architecture of the building itself is very pretty.  more »

Where to stay in Hagi

The old castle town of Hagi has a number of particularly characterful accommodations in its historic center. Primarily located next to the river as it works its way inland, the options here include traditional ryokans with Japanese-style rooms and onsite onsens. Look farther out from the historic core for the budget-friendly options, including a couple of hostels and some standard hotels--here you'll have basic amenities, but great access to the main sights of this small town.
