Need a smoking spot at the top. Why did you tear it down? Honestly, it used to be tucked away to the side. Now, there is 500 no smoking signs so it’s clear that management understands people want... more »

Beautiful view of Tokyo and great hike in nature if you take the trail as we did. Was crowded on top of the mountain but a beautiful day out of the city. more »

Under COVID, we were thinking of somewhere remote by trying to stay away from the crowded place but we were wrong. The queues for cable car and lifts were too long so we decided to take a path up... more »

An easy climb for people who wish to go for a walk to the top of a mountain but don't want to break a sweat. That being said, there are tougher paths but go at your own risk. There are some food stalls at the peak and at the cable car station. I would advise to take the cable car which takes you halfway up Mount Takao, and walk from there.

One of the nicest hike ever. So much too see along the way. There are stores, restaurants, dango stand, shrines and temples. The biggest surprise of all, there is a wonderfully monkey park where for a fee you can watch a whole bunch of monkeys in there habitat, playing and interacting with one another, wonderful to watch. We stayed there for a hour watching their life in awe.

This mountain is a nice family trekking spot and is ideal for those who want to get away from the city for a day and take in a great view and get some fresh air. It will not, however, take you away from the crowds as it is probably one of the popular weekend family destinations that puts you outside with nature without any need of serious climbing equipment. Serious climbers will most likely be disappointed at the paved trails and crowds, but for novice climbers and kids, it'll be a good climb.

Nice gentle hike. There's a few ways to get to the summit. There's a map to describe the trails as soon as you get off the train. The are inclines but nothing that can't be managed. I saw young children, elderly, and people of all shapes and sizes hiking. People wearing hiking gear and people wearing sandals. One trail is paved while the others are a bit more rugged. The summit is beautiful so don't let a HIKE keep you from taking on this adventure. Lots of people packed a lunch and sat out to eat at the summit. I even saw one group literally cooking what looked like miso and veggies. Yes, cooking!

Very pleasant place to hike. The trails were interesting to wall through. We have monkey park, shrines and temples along the way.
