Where to stay in Hachioji

Most of the lodgings in Hachioji concentrate around the busy train station, where the JR Chuo and Keio lines provide easy access to downtown Tokyo. Most hotels in the area offer simple, Western-style rooms, with basic facilities and onsite restaurants or buffets. Another option is staying in one of the numerous "love hotels," which boast budget-friendly prices, though may not agree with everyone's taste.

  • I visited the Taiwan Mitsui Outlet mall and was disappointed. This time I came to the one in Tokyo and understand why I was disappointed again (although not as upset as I went to the one in Taiwan.). ...  more »
  • Quite small compared to Gotemba, but worth a visit if you are in the area. it near Sanrio puroland so a side trip would be just fine.  more »
  • I'm not normally one to review outlet sites but here goes. Parking is a bit chaotic, queueing to get into one while the next door car park had plenty spaces. Access from car park is via gravel-filled ...  more »
  • A great place to shop especially clothing. It never seems to be too crowded even on weekends. Parking is free with a certain amount of purchase and there are many places around to eat. A two minute walk from the station if using a train. My go to place for cloth shopping in Tama.
  • Lots of sales going on throughout the year. Great prices on the JA Henkles stuff. They even have the Kramer knives! The Nike outlet is nice and calm. Not as big as others like in Gilroy, but never a problem finding popular sizes. Staff is usually very friendly and not over worked!
  • It's a big outlet mall and full of customers on weekend, car park will full early. Godiva here sold usually have over30-50%off.
  • A convenient place if you just want the feel a of a non-oppressively crowded shopping center, not unlike outlet malls or walk abouts that you'd find in suburban USA (and with many of the same brands). There are definitely better places to go if you are searching for bargains. I'm not sure if I would really call the prices there "outlet prices". There's also a cozy Tully's Coffee shop tucked in one of the corners. I enjoyed it because I was tethered to Tokyo Metropolitan University for a few days' conference, and appreciated having something to wander around during the less-interesting conference sessions.
  • Nice shopped place
