Gold Statue of Nobunaga Oda, Gifu
(1.3/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
Outside JR Gifu station, Gold Statue of Nobunaga Oda, the effigy of the revered 16-century samurai warlord, keeps watch over the junction, polished to perfection and shining in the sunlight. The man you'll see depicted here was one of the first great unifiers of Japan, conquering over a third of the country on his quest. He eventually died by taking his own life as his palace was attacked in a coup d'etat, but his legacy lives on strongly here. If you visit during October, you'll have the opportunity to see an annual parade of samurai warriors in his honor. By using our Gifu vacation route planner, you can arrange your visit to Gold Statue of Nobunaga Oda and other attractions in Gifu.
