  • Gifu catle is located on top of Mount kinka. to get the above can walk or by cable car. I chose to ride the cable cars with affordable cost. from the point down the cable car we should walk again for approximately 15 minutes to reach the Castle. entry to the castle we have to pay the entrance fee again. the cost is pretty cheap compared to the contents of the Castle. the castle is closed at 5 pm, so make sure you time enough to ride here. in the castle there are goods from nobunaga. There are 4 tingakat which peak we can see 4 wind direction from the city of gifu. the view is fabulous.

  • I really enjoyed going, the museum has an impressive amount of English for all of the exhibits inside the castle. Since it’s reconstructed, it’s a lot easier to walk around in than the old wooden ones. There’s sadly no wheelchair accessibility and people with trouble walking/climbing stairs should be aware that there’s a short but steep stair between the cable car station and the castle. I enjoyed my visit and the views of the snow-capped mountains were absolutely lovely. I recommend biking to the castle using the ¥100 rent-a-bike store outside the Kano exit of JR Gifu station. There’s bike and car parking in the park at the base of the mountain, along with a cute park.
  • Nice hike went by 100 bend which is mostly stair but short distance then came down by the 2 km plus route. The shorydo welcome come let me have 10% discount as well as free post card. The castle have very good view and worth visiting. Many story here.
  • I visited this castle in October of 2017. Like a lot of castles in Japan, this one is a modern recreation of the historical site, due to it's destruction during the War. The hike up to the castle is really scenic! The views from the rest areas are fantastic. Inside the castle, there are quite a few informative displays about the castle's history. There are historical artifacts, ranging from pieces of the original building, various weapons, and armor from historical Japan. As a foreign tourist to Japan, I would say this place is slightly off the beaten path, but it is easy to get to. Unless you're willing to hike a few km through the city to the ropeway station, you will definitely want to take a taxi from Gifu station.
  • Gifu is a city in central Japan. It is a beautiful city especially for tourists. Gifu Castle overlooks the city from atop Mt. Kinka. A cable car connects the castle to Gifu Park at the foot of the mountain. Within the park, the Nawa Insect Museum displays thousands of butterflies and beetles. Kawaramachi Street is lined with traditional wood-latticed craft shops. The city’s Nagara River is known for its cormorant fishing and summertime fireworks displays.
  • The location and views are magnificent. The building itself is constructed from concrete. No charm or odours of a wooden structure. Still worth visiting!!
