  • Come here mainly for the slide, unexpectedly so exciting fun, but also careful, because the slide to the last is to the ground, easy to hit! It was the season, and the beauty of the village and the city was very beautiful!

  • I thought it would be more cozy, but I enjoyed it for each theme. I listened to the explanation of the Gassho building and saw Geiko's dance. We had lunch at the restaurant.

  • I was going to stay at Gero Onsen, but it was very good to taste the atmosphere of the township without going to Shirakawa-go distance.

  • Nice place to see the old style farm houses if you don't have time to go all the way up to Shirakawago. The little restaurant in the park also sells some nice typical Japanese desserts and fresh juices! Nice experience.
  • Not a lot of tourists as Shirakawago or not as large, but all you need to see the old thatched roof houses and explore one of the large houses with all of the displays in it. Very interesting on how they lived hundreds of years ago. Very helpful local guide just walked up to us as we wandered and guided us through the village and explained things in English.
  • It's a wonderful place at walking distance from Giro station. The traditional village looks well preserved and worth time spending. You can enter inside each houses. One of the hut house has free dance performance. Others display the life style of people in the ancient days. There is a nice hot water Onsen. You can use it for free. However, there is one time entry fee. If you have plan to visit Takayama, drop here on your way for around 1-3 hrs, it's worth the time.
  • The uniquely designed old Japanese houses have almost four stories high, inverted V roof structures that almost reach the ground level. Inside the staircase leading to the upper floors are very steep. The entire village have similar varieties
  • I liked it better than Shirakawa-go. Don't remember the price but you can really see the inside of the houses, there are different things to do like pottery shop, cafe...
