Mother Farm, Futtsu

(320+ reviews on the web)
Farm Tourist Spot
Come and meet the animals of Mother Farm, an agricultural entertainment and education center situated amid rolling countryside. Offering respite from the capital and lots of family-friendly fun, the farm's inhabitants include cows, sheep, piglets, and rabbits, and the very hands-on facility lets visitors learn about the animals through interaction. Watch a sheepdog show, where the collies round up the ship in the large agrodome, and try your hand at milking a cow (or maybe just cuddling a bunny). A number of other attractions, including a Ferris wheel, bungee jump, and go karts add to the amusements. Put Mother Farm at the forefront of your travel plans using our Futtsu vacation builder.

  • Fun place with a pig race. Sitting area doesn't have shelter and its pretty hot under the sun this june 2017.
  • This was a great place to go visit with the kids. You can touch and feed some animals.
  • Pros Scenic Futtsu/Chiba country drive to Mother Farm. Sprawling grounds, stunning views of valley/grounds; fields of flowers. Cute piggy races. Fun animal viewing/petting areas; tortoise, goats, sheep, duck parade, rabbits, capybaras, boars, lamas, alapacas, dogs, etc. Feed horses, goats, etc. Ride horses. Small bungee jump and zip line. Delightful sheep & dog show. Cow farm & milking. Small amusement rides. Fruit & flower picking orchards; blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes, poppies, etc. Temples & gardens. Satisfying restaurants with killer views of the valley. Plenty snack and drink options, seating areas, or picnic areas. Clean facilities/grounds Well-maintained restrooms, hand-washng stations, smoke pits, trash/recycle stations throughout park. Massive parking lots (900 yen; all day). Optional bus access throughout park. Cons Lengthy drive from home. Traffic driving on aqua way to Chiba and back is the typical nightmare for being on Japanese roadways. Prices are fair, but overall adds up quickly with the plethora of activities. Zip line weight limits may be issue if gaijin, just depends. Helpful Tips Wear comfy shoes and clothes for a ton of walking and and be comfortable. Bring plenty sun protection. Bring picnic blanket/mat.
  • MotherFarm is a place to feel like we are at our own mother's home. I used to visit every year and spend time with nature, pets and getting fresh air. Travel by car is really good but bus/train facility is awesome. We have experience on the first while returning from MotherFarm some kiekyu or some bus took four of us to Tokyo back(Haneda Airport or we can get down at Shinagawa i think). Only four of my friends. it's really great service from them.
  • You can find more than what you want at a farm; feeding and petting animals, milking cows, farming, picking berries or others, shops, restaurants, BBQ house etc. There is amusement park with reasonable prices. During summer there are water activities and summer festival. Parking is 900 for once. It is clean, green and quiet area. You can also rent a cottage to stay or go for auto camping. Overall it was very fun day with my family.
