Where to stay in Furano

As a resort that attracts visitors regardless of the season, Furano has a range of accommodations to suit its popularity. The bulk of them lie to the west of the main train station. This particularly scenic area has an abundance of hotels and guesthouses, with some offering extensive views of the lavender fields, and all within easy reach of the slopes come ski time. Keep an eye out for those with onsite "onsen" (traditional Japanese spas that use hot spring water), offering a warming, relaxing experience after a day on the slopes or touring the lavender fields.

  • It's your classic "factory" or "museum" which is really just a place for bus tours to buy stuff. You can see the factory through windows, but that's it really. It's charming, but it's not really an at...  more »

  • Great pitstop for lunch if you're driving up to Biei or Tomita farm from Sapporo. Pizza was quite average but price is reasonable (~1500yen). There is a cheese souvenir shop where you can try their special flavours of cheese - give the squid ink one a go - and buy the local produce. There are also classes you can take, I think they were cheese and pizza making.
  • They have really good pizza! And the ice cream was superb too, especially the corn flavor.
  • Nice place for a very quick pitstop cos to be honest, there's nothing special or exciting about this place. The cheese selections is ok but you can find them in supermarkets. The attached ice cream and pizza cafes next door are just ok as well.
  • Soso. Nothing really fantastic. Cheese taste is ok. Most people there buy ice cream instead of cheese. Suggest to try the cheese ice cream.
  • It's a little out of the way and there isn't too much to do here... There are some samples and the food and drink is all reasonably priced. There is butter, cheese and other cooking classes which are really cheap! I ate a little Furano cheesecake and it was pretty good
