  • A great place for innocent fun! The free zoo was great! You can buy food to feed some of the animals, though be mindful of the signs as they will tell you which animals shouldn't be fed (e.g. the monk...  more »

  • Nice park for family. 2 large playgrounds, “children’s playground” and “sky dolphin”. “Sky dolphin” is smaller but well design playground. We rented bicycles for 300 yen (come with child seat) per 3 hours, managed to cycle from west gate, stopped at dolphin playground, animal forest and Rose garden and returned the bicycle at Wonder world gate within 3 hours. And we started play time at “Whale Cloud” and “Children Playground”. Recommend to buy “Fukuoka Tourist Pass” if you are travelling by train/ subway. We spent 4-5 hours in the park. I suggest cater for more time if you are going to the Sunshine pool during summer. Not much food available in the park, but many sheltered sitting area available. Bring you own lunch and have picnic should be a good option too.
  • It's a fun park. The train goes right to it and the admission fee is pretty reasonable. Bike rentals are available as well and I would recommend it the park is huge with a lot of things to do and see. At the time of writing the park is recovering from a typhoon hit so a lot of flowers aren't viewable but still it's a great park.
  • great place especially in spring season, not really recommend it for other seasons. Especially for you who has small kids, this place will be a perfect playground for them. For everyone who love flower, please visit it in spring season. The entrance fee also very cheap, perfect for family vacation.
  • Fun experience for families. There are different children playgrounds and flower gardens. You can feed and pet some of the animals such as ponies and sheep in the Animal Forest. Beware of the swans when feeding them, because they can be a bit aggressive. There is a shuttle bus which runs around the park.
  • It's a really nice park with a beautiful ocean view, an ecological zoo with all kinds of animals and beautiful flowers if you visit the park in the right season. I visited the park during summer. If you want to go to this park I would recommend that you plan your visit during autumn or spring.

Where to stay in Fukuoka

As the largest city on the island, a hub of commerce, transport, and tourism, and a base for exploration of the wider region, Fukuoka offers plenty of accommodations to choose from. The most established hotels lie in Chuo Ward, the district closest to the port and on the western bank of the Naka River. Standard and luxury options abound in the this area and surrounding districts, offering a range of additional facilities to suit all tastes and budgets. Budget-conscious travelers will be pleased to find hostels and guesthouses throughout the city, but again, primarily in this central area.
