Ohori Park, Fukuoka

4.3
Wander between ponds and islands connected by elegant stone bridges at Ohori Park, once the site of a moat for a nearby castle whose ruins still lay nearby. Also within walking distance, Fukuoka Art Museum sits at the park's southeast corner. Young families frequent the serene park, where children can explore a number of playgrounds and befriend the local animal life, which includes turtles and birds. Buy feed for the ducks and fish at a kiosk near the river. Are running almost every day. This is a very nice Park. Properly cleaned every day!. The problem is user Manor. Especially in today's time of shoppers from China are used to kill during the day is getting in the way, I can't run or be hit. Shouting, also blocked in the Starbucks stand out. Cup or leave in the toilet. Teaching manners in Japan tour is more do you want? But besides the blocked group of runners in the night. Loudly while running, spread out horizontally, such as other runners, sprawled are people who get in the way. It is from the people living around the park for everyone and it is more manner up and want to.

Kuroda Nagamasa was the year 1601 chikuzen province, and Hakata Bay in Fukuoka when building the castle of land of oeho (the outer moat), 1927, 1926 East Asian business exhibition, in time to start construction, Park, April 1929 Park dog won. Walks around the pond and bridge in the middle of the Islands. Now I love the citizens at the heart of the city's roost, right next to Maizuru Park (Fukuoka castle ruins) and cascade. A good place to enjoy a leisurely morning, legs halfway through the Islands experience strongly recommended!

Akin to Central Park in NYC, this is a lovely park with a big lake. What a great place for a stroll, a job, and a meeting with friends. There are plenty of places to sit, and there are playgrounds and exercise areas. Do stop by here if ever in Fukuoka.

I can only imagine how beautiful this spacious park would be when all the cherry blossoms lining the lake and across the running path comes into bloom, but even in winter, this park is lovely to take a stroll in. Across the lake there are three stone bridges to cross, all with its own significance. Within the Ohori Park is the Old Fukuoka Castle that you can climb to take in a good view of Fukuoka! While there is a Japanese Garden and an Art museum, both are currently unfortunately closed to the public. I suspect the garden will be opened again one the flowers are in bloom. There is also the Gokoku Shrine which visitors can take a look at, located near one side of the Fukuoka Castle. Make sure you are wearing some good walking shoes as the park is quite big.

The best place for walking, jogging, or just chilling out. This park is one of the most beautiful water parks in Japan. I was so amazed that the lake has very clean and clear water despite its location in the middle of the city. A cafe and a restaurant located at the North of the park offer bakery, beverages, and good meals with scenic beauty of the lake. Not to mention there is a Starbucks coffee shop that is the first LEED registered store in Japan on the East side.

Quite a big park with luscious green trees, clean river, many seats to sit on and just have a relaxing day at this park. Perfect for strolling, biking, running or just walking.

Nice escape place in the middle of Fukuoka city. During summer time, the largest fireworks festival will be held in this place annually. Also, this is the best spot of hanami/ cherry blossom viewing

Where to stay in Fukuoka

As the largest city on the island, a hub of commerce, transport, and tourism, and a base for exploration of the wider region, Fukuoka offers plenty of accommodations to choose from. The most established hotels lie in Chuo Ward, the district closest to the port and on the western bank of the Naka River. Standard and luxury options abound in the this area and surrounding districts, offering a range of additional facilities to suit all tastes and budgets. Budget-conscious travelers will be pleased to find hostels and guesthouses throughout the city, but again, primarily in this central area.
