Nokonoshima Island, Fukuoka

Enjoy a relaxing day out in nature with family and friends on Nokonoshima Island, enjoying views of Fukuoka city across Hakata Bay. A 10-minute ferry ride from Meinohama, you can find a perfect barbeque or picnic spot in vast grass expanses overlooking the sea. Rapeseed, daffodils, mustard, red-blossomed plums, azaleas, oranges, lemon, corn poppies and, of course, cherries, take their turn to blossom year-round. • Took a friend from Tokyo Noko Island fish dishes at this site through word of mouth and say so. Meinohama boathouse was take about 30 minutes by bus from Tenjin Kita ko渡 semba, arrived. Understood in meinohama thought so time consuming because it takes time. From hanging is also bus 370 yen and pretty hanging went by train meinohama hanging fee of 300 yen, from there to the ferry terminal of bus fare would be reasonable. I went to eat lunch, so only one open fewer stores get off the ferry, Noko Island Tourist Office heard 5 new year's day was still open about it. Took a sashimi fugu (Blowfish) the recommended dish in the store (about 2500 yen), cute and pretty and wait for the meal came out in about 30 minutes. Fugu meat is hard because usually is easy to eat raw, thinly sliced so that you always receive something unsatisfactory impression, but this store is thick because it is filling, but in the old man's false teeth eat breakfast a little bit. But say good friend no dentures or had eaten. I felt better eating fugu (Blowfish) to old people eat raw, thinly sliced from easy-to-eat. Recommended dish carapace of a sea bream, conger pottery, pottery, such as boss of sashimi alone to eat in a sufficient amount of the taste here Kai in fresh ones, such as not eating and not bother to come up here and ate, take a friend and was. To raise early on because it has been raining and what was going to go by bus to the Observatory after a meal in the winter months see narcissus only seems to be not a bad thing, you could not explore the entire island. Pretty spring flowers and beautiful impression because at that time of year once again visit. Trail to go around the island, and that was like walking tour course next time. However, halfway up one story, so hot, just might.

  • Fukuoka island in know I went with. I feel somewhat distant speaking of Islands is about 10 minutes by ferry. Great Island looks very peaceful. And also this island in Fukuoka. Because it could not walk too many places I rented bicycles even following it like lounging around the island.

  • I would recommend going if you have an afternoon to spare and most importantly, if it is the floral seasons. The 花田doesn't has any flowers when we arrived there. Yet it is a quiet and peaceful island.  more »

Where to stay in Fukuoka

As the largest city on the island, a hub of commerce, transport, and tourism, and a base for exploration of the wider region, Fukuoka offers plenty of accommodations to choose from. The most established hotels lie in Chuo Ward, the district closest to the port and on the western bank of the Naka River. Standard and luxury options abound in the this area and surrounding districts, offering a range of additional facilities to suit all tastes and budgets. Budget-conscious travelers will be pleased to find hostels and guesthouses throughout the city, but again, primarily in this central area.
