#6 of 34 in Parks in Fukuoka
Nature / Park
Wander through Momochi Seaside Park to find an abundance of bars, restaurants, museums, and Japan’s tallest seaside tower. The purpose-built seaside neighbourhood contains modern buildings, plenty of parks, wide streets, and a 1 km (0.6 mi) long artificial beach. Fukuoka Tower dominates the skyline, standing at 234 m (767 ft) tall. Learn about the local region’s development at the Fukuoka City Museum, safely swim in the calm water of the sandy beach, or go to the nearby Robosquare and learn how robots can play a role in everyday life. Put Momochi Seaside Park into our Fukuoka itinerary builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

Where to stay in Fukuoka

As the largest city on the island, a hub of commerce, transport, and tourism, and a base for exploration of the wider region, Fukuoka offers plenty of accommodations to choose from. The most established hotels lie in Chuo Ward, the district closest to the port and on the western bank of the Naka River. Standard and luxury options abound in the this area and surrounding districts, offering a range of additional facilities to suit all tastes and budgets. Budget-conscious travelers will be pleased to find hostels and guesthouses throughout the city, but again, primarily in this central area.

  • This part of the city is an interesting place to go. Even if this a man-made seaside/beach it is beautiful sight to see. Fine sand, good weather and nice food. Plus, there are food stands and restaurants to choose around nearby that you might enjoy.
  • Man-made seaside with cool view of the church. Ice cream is delicious on the left side of the beach. Cool beach-front bars.
  • a pleasant spot for a Sunday lunch. the staff at the banana bbq are friendly. so far as I could work out they bbq their food for you. I had ten takoyakI and a beer for 1000 yen. there is a free bicycle Park just outside the main entrance to the park. okinawan ice cream is 350 at the stall in the main square.
