Maizuru Park, Fukuoka

(200+ reviews on the web)
Nature / Park
Take a walk through Maizuru Park to appreciate pristine natural scenery and see a castle from the Edo period. During the cherry blossom season, the park wears a light pink shade, which creates an impression of walking among the clouds. Walk around to see the castle's rocky walls, towers, and the moat. For a slightly different experience, come by after dark, when the park lights up with artificial illumination and provides a romantic setting for a late walk. Make Maizuru Park part of your personalized Fukuoka itinerary using our Fukuoka trip builder.

  • Thought, finally bloomed late flowering cherry of the year is rainy. So sorry. Even today, at the time of the 4/12/2017, still at their best. Cherry Blossom Festival stalls has ended, but quietly recommended walks. It is a breathtaking beauty. In a hurry, please stop by.

  • Not yet full sakura blossom on the 30th March 2017 but still with good view !
  • The plum blossoms are beautiful.
  • Good for walking puppy or kids.
  • The biggest park in Fukuoka, with some lake and temples. There is also the ruin of the old castle with a panorama on the city. Traditionally people go there for picnicking during cherry blossom period.
  • What a beautiful park. Wish I'd had my running stuff with me to join the many people taking in a lap or two. Absolutely stunning. Also seemed to be a number of birds of prey flying around which was new to me. The castle ruins also make for a nice stroll on the way out. Also had a Starbucks by the lake and a huge kids play area. For slightly older kids as it was more concrete structures and climbing frames. But even my 15 month old would have had fun running around the low stuff.
