Maizuru Park, Fukuoka

4.0
#5 of 34 in Parks in Fukuoka
Take a walk through Maizuru Park to appreciate pristine natural scenery and see a castle from the Edo period. During the cherry blossom season, the park wears a light pink shade, which creates an impression of walking among the clouds. Walk around to see the castle's rocky walls, towers, and the moat. For a slightly different experience, come by after dark, when the park lights up with artificial illumination and provides a romantic setting for a late walk. • Event of light, so I went to Maizuru Park. Came off at the ohori Koen subway station, walked a little bit. Because it was so looking forward to. Objet of light of projection mapping, an oval, a great place to stay. May have dark feet, so little light to the feet. Can enjoy the night view of Fukuoka from the heights is very good.

  • Near the Great Park, there is a big meadow in Jade Park, surrounded by the cherry flower trees, in the cherry season, you can bring a cushion cobblestone under the cherry flower tree rest, there are stalls trafficking in the aisle to sell food and drink, there are children's play stalls bit.

  • Very nice landscaping and spacious. Went on a rather non-busy day. Park is free of charge. It has a nice vantage at the top of the castle.
  • A good place to take a walk and relax.
  • I was struck by how beautiful the view is from this park during Sakura Season. This is one of the best places to view the sea of Sakura blossoms in late March/Early April. If you happen to be in Fukuoka during Sakura season, make sure you go to the Maizuru Park and to the top of the lookout station they have there. The view of the city and Sakura blossoms is amazing! This is also a wonderful place where the Japanese gather, enjoy eating together under the cover of the trees. There are several vendors in certain areas who sell delicious and creative foods. Make sure to spend an afternoon here and just relax and see the Japanese unwind and enjoy life, laughter and company.
  • Linked to Ohori park via aa nice flowery entrance. Definitely more geared toward outdoor activity, as the nice grass flat is perfect for field sports. The surrounding pathways are unpaved, so it gets a little tricky after rain (which was the case our first visit there), and last time there was a large marching band practicing and kicking up a large amount of dust. Lots of stalls in this area and picnics during Hanami season. All in all a nice park, however no different from a large park in any other place.
  • I saw great illumination here

Where to stay in Fukuoka

As the largest city on the island, a hub of commerce, transport, and tourism, and a base for exploration of the wider region, Fukuoka offers plenty of accommodations to choose from. The most established hotels lie in Chuo Ward, the district closest to the port and on the western bank of the Naka River. Standard and luxury options abound in the this area and surrounding districts, offering a range of additional facilities to suit all tastes and budgets. Budget-conscious travelers will be pleased to find hostels and guesthouses throughout the city, but again, primarily in this central area.
