  • Visit Fukuoka at work a lot, very private society do not friend in Fukuoka, so I had little time, however, the tourist throng! Look at the Hakata Gion-Yama Kasa, praying, has pulled a fortune. My heart was washed. I think the place good to go. Through the street from Nakasu-Kawabata station, walk 5 to 6 minutes long.

  • Visited Fukuoka travel for the first time in early December. And December was no time because of bad timing, cherry blossoms, festivals and other events. In a flat city, could visit easily. Than Kyoto's Sunday visit was, in its own way were tourists, but not much. So isn't too wide in 30 minutes while others you can visit easily. Hakata Gion yamakasa is exhibited on the grounds, visited the non-season tourists see is happy. Also, and look up at the gate was decorated with orientation of the Chinese zodiac which was a sight to see. Other "couple Ginkgo tree" and "Hakata should be" was "well its sacred crane", "Hakata Ginko (ginann). It is good to see compact.

  • This is the famous shrine in Fukuoka. Always crowded with worshiper. Very near kamikawabatamchi shopping street which is sort of good , food and Japanese traditional souvenirs and known as tourist center , also near Canal city.
  • Classy and beautiful shrine. You can see a huge "Yamakasa(山笠)", a kind of Dashi(山車), used for Hakata Gion Yamakasa(博多祇園山笠), a festival in July in Fukuoka City. This is a float decorated with a lot of ornaments like Samurai dolls, flowers and a small castle etc. It's just as gorgeous.
  • sacred and peaceful. I left before the July "山笠" festival started. But still can feel the passion of the folks
  • Beautiful ancient Shrine. Founded in 757 in order to worship Amaterasu and Susanoo. Nice clean and well-maintained. Not crowded..enjoy a short peaceful time here. Stop by if you are in the city.
  • An attractive shrine in Fukuoka, you cannot find another shrine with the same scale with this.
