  • It is a famous shrine in Hakata yamakasa. Said to be narrower than I had imagined, he visited for the first time. Kushida pursuit indeed watching on TV and "in such a small place..." is is in place it seems. When I visited in kabukichō Mairi cute children's families were many. Photo is of previously performed at Festival time. Fortune was prosperous international in multiple languages.

  • Every July on the 15th "Hakata (Fukuoka and tell) human beings are completely off from work (authorized companies)" at this festival lives over it. Scattered across the country's young-centric young men come home to this day. It's "just for the Festival," Festival that floats to carry a certain distance hours competing. It is brave, heroic loincloth costume for men is an indescribable in figures. This shrine with the bases each town by floats to leave in the time difference. It's on the sidewalk to cheer over the bucket of water, and to encourage the people. Floats carried on courageously "shouting" Tom-Tom kushida shrine 5:30 at dawn on the morning of the run. * The dolls Festival in each town, towering craftsman Warrior have a wreath, there is this [ornament yamakasa (kazariyamagasa)] and is no Festival saying, "competition". For competition in low, sober Festival. It's that many people are often wrong. Hakata people says no money overnight. Plumpy yamakasa decorative number 10 million yen combined to one year was breaking. It's decorating every year with donations from many companies, shops and villagers prepared this. Smug is teeming with a chivalrous in Kyushu.

  • This is the famous shrine in Fukuoka. Always crowded with worshiper. Very near kamikawabatamchi shopping street which is sort of good , food and Japanese traditional souvenirs and known as tourist center , also near Canal city.
  • Classy and beautiful shrine. You can see a huge "Yamakasa(山笠)", a kind of Dashi(山車), used for Hakata Gion Yamakasa(博多祇園山笠), a festival in July in Fukuoka City. This is a float decorated with a lot of ornaments like Samurai dolls, flowers and a small castle etc. It's just as gorgeous.
  • sacred and peaceful. I left before the July "山笠" festival started. But still can feel the passion of the folks
  • Beautiful ancient Shrine. Founded in 757 in order to worship Amaterasu and Susanoo. Nice clean and well-maintained. Not crowded..enjoy a short peaceful time here. Stop by if you are in the city.
  • An attractive shrine in Fukuoka, you cannot find another shrine with the same scale with this.
