Kushida Shrine, Fukuoka

4.0
Considered the most important religious site in the area, Kushida Shrine dates back to 757 and features a thousand-year-old gingko tree as its shade. If you visit during mid-July, you'll have a chance to participate in the largest festival in Fukuoka, Yamakasa Gion Matsuri. Beautiful temple. Buddhist chants during a ceremony sounded lovely. Some temporary construction made picture-taking a challenge but the amazing festival dashi was on display.

Come here right in the morning of hakata dontaku 2017. Very lively place, accompanied by taiko drum rolling, the parade took place also. Recommended

This is the famous shrine in Fukuoka. Always crowded with worshiper. Very near kamikawabatamchi shopping street which is sort of good , food and Japanese traditional souvenirs and known as tourist center , also near Canal city.

Where to stay in Fukuoka

As the largest city on the island, a hub of commerce, transport, and tourism, and a base for exploration of the wider region, Fukuoka offers plenty of accommodations to choose from. The most established hotels lie in Chuo Ward, the district closest to the port and on the western bank of the Naka River. Standard and luxury options abound in the this area and surrounding districts, offering a range of additional facilities to suit all tastes and budgets. Budget-conscious travelers will be pleased to find hostels and guesthouses throughout the city, but again, primarily in this central area.
