  • Attended a game and found the seating comfortable (I'm 6'2") for 4,000 yen. The fans are as rabid as the Tiger's fans and the beer ladies are always close by. I took a taxi from a hotel very near the ...  more »
  • Getting to the Dome is easy by bus or subway. You can't help getting caught up with the crowds passion for the home town Hawks. The game was sold out but luckily my hotel concierge got me a great tick...  more »
  • I'm not a huge baseball fan, however, I do like the game, watching the game and what I like even more is being at the game. I went to see the Softbank Hawks play at Fukuoka Yahuoku Dome. You can buy a...  more »

  • Everything I thought I knew about the atmosphere of a baseball game was a lie after seeing a game here. Cheerleaders? Yup? Brass Bands and drummers in the bleachers? Oh yeah. Just an amazing way to see a game. Probably par for the course in Japan, but from the American perspective, an awesome change in perspective.
  • Great game good atmosphere neat building.
  • Coming from Australia I was a baseball noob. I first visited Fukuoka Yafuoku Dome (Yahoo Dome) back in 2011. It was my first baseball game. After later visiting baseball stadiums in the US (including what some say are the best), I think they need to come and visit Fukuoka to see how it should be done. Firstly the the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks became Nippon champions in the year I was first there, and in subsequent visits in 2014 and this year (they became champs last week). Unlike San Francisco where I had to get my own beer, in Fukuoka large cups of beer are delivered to the seat by always gorgeous beer sellers. They make life easy :) But the view is clearer, the entertainment and vibe are better. The Japanese make the Americans look like they are asleep (a comparison many Americans I know who visit Japan frequent agree with). When its baseball season - get a ticket a go. Immediately.
  • Going to a baseball match was a great experience. The stadium is quite big and impressive. They distribute balloon during the match for a ballons release at the end. The done can be opened.
  • baseball games in japan are an amazing experience. if you're visiting, definitely get some tickets.

Where to stay in Fukuoka

As the largest city on the island, a hub of commerce, transport, and tourism, and a base for exploration of the wider region, Fukuoka offers plenty of accommodations to choose from. The most established hotels lie in Chuo Ward, the district closest to the port and on the western bank of the Naka River. Standard and luxury options abound in the this area and surrounding districts, offering a range of additional facilities to suit all tastes and budgets. Budget-conscious travelers will be pleased to find hostels and guesthouses throughout the city, but again, primarily in this central area.
