Observation Deck Tourist Spot
The tallest seaside structure of its kind in the country, Fukuoka Tower pierces the sky like a needle and offers an unobstructed vantage point for views over the city. Pay a visit to the futuristic 234 m (768 ft) tall tower and admire its distinctive design, which features a triangular cross-section and 8,000 mirrors covering its surface. Go up to one of the tower's three observation decks, the highest of which reaches 123 m (404 ft), for sweeping views of the surrounding town, the mountains to the east, and the Sea of Genkai. At the second deck, you can even kick back with a bite to eat or a drink at the cafe. By using our Fukuoka holiday planner, you can arrange your visit to Fukuoka Tower and other attractions in Fukuoka.

Where to stay in Fukuoka

As the largest city on the island, a hub of commerce, transport, and tourism, and a base for exploration of the wider region, Fukuoka offers plenty of accommodations to choose from. The most established hotels lie in Chuo Ward, the district closest to the port and on the western bank of the Naka River. Standard and luxury options abound in the this area and surrounding districts, offering a range of additional facilities to suit all tastes and budgets. Budget-conscious travelers will be pleased to find hostels and guesthouses throughout the city, but again, primarily in this central area.

  • I took the bus from Tenjin to the tower, about 40 minutes. They had a sign saying discounts for foreigners so I showed my passport. She saw it was my birthday and said it was free and gave me a birthd...  more »
  • Did not take up to the observation deck. Not that high compared to other tall building like Eiffel tower or Burj Khalifa Pretty quite not many visitors.  more »
  • yes this a tower like most others but the view over the city is pretty unique. Not overpriced to go up and discount if your a tourist which is great. They speak relatively good English and are polite ...  more »

  • It has fantastic view of Fukuoka City. Nice place to visit on leisure. It has a restaurant with a view. Also near a seaside park and museums.
  • Very cool place for any tourists. Nice view at any time of day and pretty cheap compared to places like Tokyo Skytree. If you have a foreign passport it's discounted even further. There are a number of cool shops nearby, my favorite is Robosquare. There is also, of course, the beach with a number of small shops and restaurants.
  • Nice place to hang out a couple of hours, but i think it's quite small. The tower view is nice, and the price is high at all ( compared to those like skytree )
  • Well known tourist center of Fukuoka . I arrived sunday noon time, I found mostly Chinese and Korean group tourists.I withdraw japanese money from SEVEN BANK (ATM )under the tower and handling charge of ATM is 0 JPY. Thanks and nice bank for credit card users.
  • Good place to visit, but it's just a tower, honestly. Kinda expensive, tbh. Maybe good for a romantic date if it weren't so crowded.
