Fukuoka Tower, Fukuoka

3.7
The tallest seaside structure of its kind in the country, Fukuoka Tower pierces the sky like a needle and offers an unobstructed vantage point for views over the city. Pay a visit to the futuristic 234 m (768 ft) tall tower and admire its distinctive design, which features a triangular cross-section and 8,000 mirrors covering its surface. Go up to one of the tower's three observation decks, the highest of which reaches 123 m (404 ft), for sweeping views of the surrounding town, the mountains to the east, and the Sea of Genkai. At the second deck, you can even kick back with a bite to eat or a drink at the cafe. Make Fukuoka Tower part of your personalized Fukuoka itinerary using our Fukuoka trip builder tool .

  • Can see the city view from here .There is discounted price for foreign passport holder around 640yen .It is near the beach too ,so can spend time visiting 2 places .so it worth to make a trip down .  more »
  • This I do not recommend boarding the building, because this and Hong Kong's high floor big building look not to have too many points. And there is no great place to look at the view above, so it's OK to have a line on the commercial line below.

  • In fact, in the night to see the 640 yen a night a little bit, but the throwing this pretty, especially if you look at the really pretty outside Fukuoka Tower.

  • It has fantastic view of Fukuoka City. Nice place to visit on leisure. It has a restaurant with a view. Also near a seaside park and museums.
  • Very cool place for any tourists. Nice view at any time of day and pretty cheap compared to places like Tokyo Skytree. If you have a foreign passport it's discounted even further. There are a number of cool shops nearby, my favorite is Robosquare. There is also, of course, the beach with a number of small shops and restaurants.
  • Nice place to hang out a couple of hours, but i think it's quite small. The tower view is nice, and the price is high at all ( compared to those like skytree )
  • Well known tourist center of Fukuoka . I arrived sunday noon time, I found mostly Chinese and Korean group tourists.I withdraw japanese money from SEVEN BANK (ATM )under the tower and handling charge of ATM is 0 JPY. Thanks and nice bank for credit card users.
  • Good place to visit, but it's just a tower, honestly. Kinda expensive, tbh. Maybe good for a romantic date if it weren't so crowded.

Where to stay in Fukuoka

As the largest city on the island, a hub of commerce, transport, and tourism, and a base for exploration of the wider region, Fukuoka offers plenty of accommodations to choose from. The most established hotels lie in Chuo Ward, the district closest to the port and on the western bank of the Naka River. Standard and luxury options abound in the this area and surrounding districts, offering a range of additional facilities to suit all tastes and budgets. Budget-conscious travelers will be pleased to find hostels and guesthouses throughout the city, but again, primarily in this central area.
