Where to stay in Fujiyoshida

The majority of visitors to Fujiyoshida come to get onto the Yoshida Trail and conquer the volcano. The city itself doesn't have much in the way of accommodations, save for some standard business hotels. Far more popular with international visitors are the resort towns to the east and west, Kawaguchiko and Yamanakako. Located on the banks of scenic lakes, they offer traditional ryokans, simple hotels, campgrounds, and hostels, with the more upmarket options including onsens.

  • Meanwhile I visited quite many shrines in Japan, but this one definately had the largest red torii inside. Also they were extremely tall or big trees here to find, and especially nice was the walk to ...  more »

  • This is almost a 'must see', its a really decorative, beautiful, colorful shrine in a thick grove of huge giant cedar trees but close to the road with ample parking so pretty easy to get to and find. ...  more »
