  • Park that develops around the Pagoda and Chureito offers many beautiful views towards Mount Fuji, weather permitting of course; There are many areas in which to rest and enjoy the scenery and nature.

  • Walk from Tokyu Fuji Yoshida station 10 min, Fuji Sengen shrine worship. Looking back on the way up to 398 stairs to the tower for the war dead, and impressed nice views of Mt. Fuji. Imagine watching the cherry trees began to bulge here when you are served with cherry blossoms and buds in the per for the war dead pagoda (pagoda) to the Observatory, also waited spectacle: the. I want to enjoy the season.

  • This neighborhood, walking distance to the famous attractions, Japan representative of the regulars on the photo photo zone early in the morning to avoid the crowds, because it is going up. Up in the morning and take a walk with the dogs and can meet the neighborhood residents, taking pictures, too. The neighborhood is also a little remote location because it is much better if you use the rental car accessibility.

  • Don’t let the 400 stairs scare you off! This is a place you don’t want to miss. It takes you about 800m or about 10 min walk from the closest train station. You can also drive up to the half of the mountain. The walk path from train station to the pagoda pave with a picture of this pagoda to lead you the way. Recommend you to check weather before coming here. I came here in winter which I still see the pagoda with a foggy Mt. Fuji bit no Sakura flower. Yet, the scene is beautiful and pause your day for a while. On the way up, there is a food stand available in case you are hungry. Also, restroom available close to this food stand or another one on the top. A sacred fountain is also a good stop before claiming up for the view. Nice place.
  • A very nice place for viewing and taking pictures of Mt. Fuji. Of course you need luck to be on your side to get a bright and clear view of Fuji, without clouds. There is a shrine and a pagoda dedicated to the soldiers who laid down their lives for their country in all the wars. There are steps (398) or a pathway as well to reach the pagoda. Either of these could be slightly tiresome for elderly visitors. The are rest rooms here and there is a free parking lot with enough space. Can spend an hour here. About a 90-120 mins drive from Tokyo on the Chuo Expressway. Toll about 2000 one way. Enjoy and visit on a bright sunny day.
  • A great view on Fuji san. However the park and shrine are very limited and there is nothing else to do around.
  • This is THE ultimate postcard view of Fuji that you came to Japan for. Excellent unobstructed view of Fuji and the surrounding area. Came here for the sunset and stayed taking photos and enjoying the view for over an hour. Will definitely bring friends and family here. Heads up though - it's not accessible for everyone since you have to ascend up about 400 steps to get to the top. Plan ahead if you have people with mobility/accessibility issues in your group. 日本の観光資料によく載せてる絶景ですね。夕日が最高でした。さくらの時期は絶景でした。
  • Climbed up to the Chureito Pagoda, followed a track and ended up here! Nice view of Mt. Fuji here

Where to stay in Fujiyoshida

The majority of visitors to Fujiyoshida come to get onto the Yoshida Trail and conquer the volcano. The city itself doesn't have much in the way of accommodations, save for some standard business hotels. Far more popular with international visitors are the resort towns to the east and west, Kawaguchiko and Yamanakako. Located on the banks of scenic lakes, they offer traditional ryokans, simple hotels, campgrounds, and hostels, with the more upmarket options including onsens.
