Enoshima Shrine, Fujisawa

3.9
#2 of 14 in Historic Sites in Fujisawa
A complex of three temples dedicated the goddess of knowledge, Enoshima Shrine dates back to the 5th century and remains one of the area's major Shinto sites. You'll have to climb steep stairs to reach the shrines, so wearing comfortable shoes is advised. The view from the top makes the uphill trek worthwhile--take a moment to soak in the views of the sea and contemplate the long history of this sacred place. • 1 / 7 16:00 visited in the past. Past the holidays and evenings, were sparsely populated. You can visit slowly. Also visit to the falls from the light of lanterns is very fantastic island that is indescribably strange feeling is nice.

  • If you go into the new year early on weekdays or morning, 10 will be made matrix to the bottom of the stairs and not before. After the shrine's Japan only? The root 混manai of Park tours to the lighthouse and Tulip-filled pay escalator ride in the Suica, long Cafe and book store before reservation screen, time views from the lighthouse. Also see the cave and then on the way back, stop by the Enoshima shrine as well. Can pray if there are crowded and going down the stairs, holding column haunts you (laughs). When weather is nice and clear winter air from Mt.Fuji from the bridge looks better. Venture shrine, a walk to enjoy the best views is from please.

  • New year's day is go home every year. 混manai as the famous shrine of the new spots come out on TV is attractive. View of Mt. Fuji is the contrast between the blue sky and sea.

  • I just loved this place. This place has everything to offer as a perfect weekend gateway. A white sand beach. A little trekk. Good restaurants. Closer to Tokyo and Yokohama. Kamakura trains. Good shopping options and light house views. And off course nice temples. If you don't want to walk, one can use paid escalators. I came across many cute "cats" whenever I visited this place. Don't miss to visit Dragon caves on opposite side of climb towards sea.
  • Amazing place. Dragon statues, hawks, ocean views, beautiful sunsets, Mt Fuji in the distance.
  • Early Autumn and Winter mornings have the best chance to catch a glimpse of Mt Fuji. Enoshima is compact yet pack a punch to do and see
  • Amazing place, beautiful maze of different shrines and natural beauty. Caves and the shore paths are stunning
  • Three small but very beautiful temples that can be accessed via escalators for those who don't want to walk up the steep stairs for a fee of 360 yen.
