Enoshima Sea Candle, Fujisawa

4.3
#1 of 14 in Historic Sites in Fujisawa
Take a lift or climb the spiraling stairs to the top of the 40 m (131.2 ft) Enoshima Sea Candle, where you'll experience breathtaking 360 degree vistas across the bay and city. On a clear day you'll be afforded some of the best views of Mt. Fuji available, with its snow-capped, conical shape visible in the haze of the day. Not only a viewpoint, the structure still functions as a lighthouse, as well as supporting antennas providing cell phone signals. Consider a nighttime visit; aside from being recognized as the 6th best "Japan Heritage Night View," the structure lights up brilliantly, powered by solar energy collected throughout the day. • Benten bridge as well as good weather and low clouds & and recommended early in the morning the wind is light, the sunset up close. Good weather is, of course, panoramic landmark tower and Miura peninsula and Oshima Island. The place to go when you come in to the Enoshima. Winter lighthouse's Tulips are blooming in the Park (charges apply), or during the long Cafe and double the fun. Light up the night is beautiful. You guys enjoy!

  • We had unforgottable trip here for illumination because of super strong wind attack along the way from station to the escalator entrance gate, which took a half hour in total. As we got to see the lights, all effort was worth it. Recommended destination if you're around this area. Come as early as possible after the sunset is better since most stores in the street market are closed at 8PM.
  • Great view with lots of 100 yen viewing telescopes. 500 yen gets you into the garden area and also into the tower itself. Even out of season the garden was very pretty with lots of lights at night to compensate the lack of flowers in winter. Overall a great place to check out if you're in the area.
  • This island is so amazing. Great view of Mt. Fuji, bunch of delicious foods, a temple that you can take photos of, garden of flowers that's so beautiful, beach which you can play on until it disappears when the night comes, and finally the great Sea Candle that proudfully stand between the crowds. On winter time, like every place in Japan, "illumination" is one of the reason to come to this place. Various colors of light in every shape that you can think of. The best thing about that place is actually a small thing that maybe only small amount of people will notice. The camera holder. There are some of them diatributed in very very significantly great place to take photos.
  • Visiting this place during a bad downpours coz of the coming typhoon T__T my bad. So I cant really enjoy the view from the observation deck. With ¥ 500 you can access this deck. There is an open platform at the base. The garden is nice too with an open plaza, good to just sit, read or enjoying a cup of tea or coffee. If you want to come better check the weather first so you can enjoy your time better here.
  • super nice place with a superb view. it's best to go just before the sun sets so that you can see both the day and night views.
