Enoshima Sea Candle, Fujisawa

Lighthouse Observation Deck
Take a lift or climb the spiraling stairs to the top of the 40 m (131.2 ft) Enoshima Sea Candle, where you'll experience breathtaking 360 degree vistas across the bay and city. On a clear day you'll be afforded some of the best views of Mt. Fuji available, with its snow-capped, conical shape visible in the haze of the day. Not only a viewpoint, the structure still functions as a lighthouse, as well as supporting antennas providing cell phone signals. Consider a nighttime visit; aside from being recognized as the 6th best "Japan Heritage Night View," the structure lights up brilliantly, powered by solar energy collected throughout the day. Put Enoshima Sea Candle into our Fujisawa tour planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Fujisawa.

  • My sons and I loved the views from the top. Well worth the ¥500. Was windy so we couldn't climb the stairs up the lighthouse so we settled for the elevator.  more »
  • I had thought it's just a small tower. Wrong. On top of the hill, good height of tower is here. You can look down the bay, the bridge, the ocean, distant Mt. Fuji, and the island itself. I recommend y...  more »

  • Cheap place too see. Beautiful few of the bay and City. Take good walking shoes. Thousands of steps. Well worth the climb and exercise.
  • Best observation deck in Kanto. A beautiful view of the Shonan coast, the ocean, the mountains including Mt. Fuji on a clear day, and of course the island itself. Much better than the city towers where every direction gives you the same view.
  • Amazing place. Beautiful. Recommended.
  • One of the best observation deck . Since its in an island you get a perfect view of both land and sea. If you are lucky like us, you could have breathtaking view of Mt Fuji. It has two levels( indoor n outdoor) , so you could go up on any day.
  • When the weather cooperates, it's worth to go up the tower for the view. There is the indoor level for cooler days, and the top observation level where you can enjoy the wind. You will be able to see the city of Fujisawa on one end, and the Pacific on the other.
