Enoshima Aquarium, Fujisawa

4.0
#2 of 14 in Zoos & Aquariums in Kanagawa Prefecture
Zoo / Aquarium Nature / Park
Discover the treasure trove of marine life and the biodiversity of Sagami Bay at Enoshima Aquarium. This modern aquarium allows any enthusiast to learn about cutting-edge sea research and what lies hidden in the deep blue. Visit the large display of jellyfish, and mellow out to their slow, hypnotic movement. Take a closer look at penguins and seals both in and out of the water, and notice how they transform into incredibly fast swimmers compared to their clumsy sauntering on land. If you want a more hands-on approach, head over to the activity center to learn about the seashore and the necessary actions to protect it. • Riding dolphin or not familiar with too much because I wanted into exit for a seat, but saw the show with simple tricks, was not expected. After no one special exhibition was the only Aquarium.

  • High quality displays with English. Would have been 5 stars if there were a few more things there, though we didn't catch the dolphin show or the jelly fish show. Absolutely going to return. It is a great place to get out of the midday sun on a beach trip to Shonan kaigan.
  • Excellent exhibits. Not too crowded. The kids really enjoyed the seal and dolphin show.
  • If I need to relax, this is the first place to come. Just seeing fish in a huge tank keeps my mind from miscellaneous worry. Also the place is located at the beach. I can enjoy ocean view from the terrace!
  • Good range/variety of exhibits including a deep sea area. Lots of fun for the family. Particularly enjoyed the dolphin show and jellyfish zone. Lots of shows scheduled throughout the day so check the schedule online and plan accordingly to get the best value out of your money. Can take up to 90 mins so take care when planning your schedule and don't forget to make time for Enoshima across the bridge. You can also view the sea from the 2nd floor and enjoy the sunset there.
  • This is a beautiful aquarium well worth a visit. They don't only have fish, but also other creatures from the sea. Amazing displays and fish tanks all around.

Where to stay in Fujisawa

Most tourists only pass through the city of Fujisawa on the way to its popular Enoshima island, where accommodation options include a number of hotels, inns, and traditional Japanese ryokans. Most of the island's lodgings lie beachside or scattered around the waterfront area. If you choose to stay in Fujisawa proper, you'll find several mid-range and budget friendly hotels situated near the railway station.
