Listen to the pleasant melodies of music boxes at Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum, a museum dedicated to automated musical instruments from around the globe. Hear a range of different musical genres performed by antique music boxes, and mechanical organs in richly decorated halls, designed to look like luxurious European banquet halls from the Victorian era. Learn about the musical devices and their particular cultural importance during the times before recorded sound. The grounds display manicured lawns and a picturesque canal, all leading up to an extensive view of Mount Fuji across the lake. • Need to pay an entrance fee to enter. There are lockers to store your luggage as well, of course for a fee as well. You can have a meal at the cafe. Or do a quick shopping at their shops. There are some nice musical boxes for sales, with prices ranging from US$20 to thousands of dollars. There are different timings for various shows. All the shows are well-scheduled such that visitors can enjoy all the shows.
  • Small but very cute place filled with automatic music players.. Recommend getting the coupon from bus stop for 200¥ off. You can rent dresses and feel like a princess inside this little fairy tale place. Though very cute, seemed like it was more for money than music...
  • Cute place and fun! I recommend to visit there on spring time because there are so many rose trees!! However I went there on January , really enjoyed with sand art show and music now show!! Also you can see amazing view on sunny day at the garden:)
  • Went in over new year holidays in January and luckily they were open! Maybe I had high expectations going in but it felt a little too small. You could probably spend 2-3 hours here if you wanted to. And I think families with children would most be able to enjoy it. Some of the souvenirs were tacky and overpriced and I have seen nicer ones at shops at other parts of Japan. I guess kawaguchiko is also a relatively inaccessible place so this is already pretty good enough.
  • Very interesting place if you like European music history. You get your money's worth if you stay for at least one live musical performance. Highly recommended. Very unique attraction.
