Fugaku Wind Cave, Fujikawaguchiko-machi

3.5
#3 of 11 in Nature in Fujikawaguchiko-machi
Wander into the depths of Fugaku Wind Cave, one of many lava caves that pepper in the local forest. With a total length of 201 m (659 ft) and a height of 8.7 m (28.5 ft), you can explore the cave relatively quickly, but don't hang around too long, as the inner cave has a year-round temperature of around 0 to 3 C (32 to 37.4 F). Observe large icicles lit with colorful lights, and note the lack of echo while you talk, with sound quickly absorbed by the basaltic walls of the cave. Wear sturday shoes to explore the subterranean world, as the icy conditions can create slippery spots. It is crowded on weekends, holidays and Bon, and not even in the parking lot to begin with. I think that seems to be fun spots to quite a bit waiting for parking place, then I'm very crowded visitors. On a rainy weekend day in the afternoon went. Parking is free and admission was smooth. We have to walk to the hole is not trail. Hole is a relatively gentle way, regardless of age, it is easy to go. As temperature is 0 degrees. It is very cold, short sleeve. There was ice there was no icicles. Excursion since junior high school, so I walked while remembering fondly. It is better in eating food such as noodles, Fujinomiya yakisoba in a parking lot next to the store but seating is limited, so do not go. If there is a recommended spot.
