Diamond and Flower Ferris Wheel is a 117m tall Ferris wheel in Kasai Rinkai Park in Edogawa, Tokyo, Japan. It is named for its light shows, which have the appearance of a sparkling diamond or flower. When completed in 2001, it was the world's second tallest Ferris wheel. It was also the tallest Ferris wheel ever built in Japan, but was surpassed the following year by the 120m Sky Dream Fukuoka. However, the Fukuoka wheel closed in September 2009, and the Kasai Rinkai Park wheel once again became Japan's tallest operational Ferris wheel. The wheel is in diameter and has 68 passenger cars, each able to carry 6 people. Passengers may not smoke and pets are not permitted. Each rotation takes 17 minutes, and on a clear day the views from the top of the wheel include Tokyo, Tokyo Bay, Tokyo Disneyland, Chiba, Mount Fuji, and the Bōsō Peninsula.

  • It is better because it takes time to go around (approximately 20 minutes) feels like I've finished toilet. Be careful nuances turnoff is on the way back is doing until 8 a.m. on weekdays at night along the way, somehow 焦rimashita (lol). To also go in the back. There are things in the place without popular Gala is not good people to hang out, is not safe. At night, guard round without that, no. We recommend a safe way to the Ferris wheel from the train station, so without straying from the road go back.

  • I strongly recommend it on a windy day, the structure is steady so it won’t cause distress, and if it’s windy, you will be able to see Mount Fuji from the top! Beautiful views  more »
  • The view takes in so much - Tokyo Bay, Disney Sea, the park below, airplanes taking off and landing. Definitely not a bland view. It is a reasonable price to ride, and the queue moves fairly constantl...  more »

Where to stay in Tokyo

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi. Meanwhile, hostels catering to the shoestring traveler lie scattered throughout the city. For a memorable, distinctly Japanese experience, seek out a ryokan, a traditional bed and breakfast with tatami floor mats and sliding screen doors.
