Namiyoke Inari Shrine, Chuo

3.4
Namiyoke Inari Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Tsukiji, Chūō, Tokyo. It is an Inari shrine that was built on the water's edge when this part of Tokyo (then Edo) was created from landfill after the Great Fire of Meireki in 1657. The name of the shrine literally means "protection from waves."After the Tsukiji fish market was established in its present location after the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake, the Namiyoke Inari Shrine became an unofficial guardian shrine for the marketplace and its traders. The courtyard of the shrine is dotted with various memorial plaques and carvings donated by trade groups in the marketplace.

Wave except shrine to eye and nose to Tsukiji. Beside the main building is the lion head is wish tree tags are placed on the head of one of the two. Shrines loved by local community members, you can visit the pilgrims from other provinces. Tokyo Fuku tour company.

Entering the shrine and enshrined a giant lion head immediately to the right. Put in the lion head wrote a wish from the nostrils of this lion head, wood deck, thank you. You could go up to the building of this lion head there but not well known, from the back of a lion's round was and is good during the visit can be 1 around, so please test.

If you're at the tsukiji fish market already, then you can stop by the Namiyoke Inari shrine. It's not really worth a visit on its own - at most its a 30 minute stop for some quick factoids, appreciation, and pictures. It's a small shrine without much to do, and there's not a lot of information in English if you want to learn more about it.
