Create an itinerary including Osaka Castle
Built and rebuilt numerous times since 1653, Osaka Castle looms over its surrounding gardens, moats, imposing stone walls, gates, and turrets. Take the elevator up to the observation deck on the castle’s eighth floor, or wander the garden between the complex’s many structures, stopping in the tea house for a snack. The castle, originally intended to help with the unification of Japan, was captured and changed hands over a dozen times. Visit the museum within to learn more about the castle’s history. • Great castle of the war era, Japan. If you are a fan of samurai and ninja. You probably are very familiar with the invincible castle.

  • A very beautiful castle. One of the historical sites in Osaka you should visit. Easy access by subway. There is also a famous shrine next to the castle. Japanese people would visit the shrine almost every day for good luck and health. The shrine would be especially busy during the New Year 29 Dec to 4 Jan.
  • A great landmark to stroll around, the outer walls are particularly grand. It costs ¥600 for adults to go inside the main tower, but kids go free. The modern interior makes for an easy visit, but it does feel a bit like a hotel at times.
  • Decent for a quick visit. Not that enjoyable as the inside of the castle is nothing like the original. The new restaurants near by have been a great new way to attract more visitors I believe. Fot me the main attraction is the surrounding park.
  • This is a very iconic castle. You may also opt to enter, but when I visited, I just explored outside of the castle. If only it was not raining when I went, I would have stayed longer to take photos :P Anyway, it is a good place to visit in Spring for the cherry blossoms.
  • A lot of historical information and quite a beautiful looking castle. It is significantly more ornate than is typical of Japanese castles but enjoyable. Inside is a museum where you can learn the history of the castle and surrounding areas. The view from the observation area is quite awesome!
