There's an unusual friend waiting to hang out with you over at Owl Cafe Akiba Fukurou. Yes, owls of various shapes and sizes perch patiently here, ready to be held and petted. Much like Tokyo's popular cat cafes, in which the every day stresses of city life melt away in the company of a friendly creature, here you'll get an hour-long session with a room full of owls. As ambient mood music plays away from the neon lit, busy streets, you can move from owl to owl, aquainting yourself with the various breeds, and interacting with them in this novel establishment. Be aware that the owls may sometimes make a mess on you (which the staff will do their best to clean up), so consider wearing something you don't mind getting a little dirty. Planning Tokyo trip won't be overwheling when you use's Insprock itinerary maker.

Owl Cafe Akiba Fukurou reviews
My family and I went to this place last year, the design of the cafe is concise and made me felt cozy. The waiters were very nice when my Family and I got there, although there was the language... more »
This was a great experience with a magical atmosphere and great staff to help us interact with the owls, who are all adorable more »
My friend and I went here for something different in Tokyo, and it was one of our favorite experiences in Japan! The workers were so kind and very knowledgeable about the owls. Excellent English, and.... more »
There were booklets in different languages to explain do & don't, details of the owls, video to watch to prep you before visiting the cafe. It showed that the owners were trying to make sure the guests understand the best way to interact with the owls. The owners were very attentive and friendly, took loads of our pictures and make sure we had fun. Place was very clean and comfortable. Be noted that there is no drink/ food served so it will just be a pure experience with the owls. I would hope that there is a toilet and would suggest to remind the guests to wear something suitable since the owls might poop on you. Nonetheless, it was a great experience and it is definitely suitable for both local and tourists.
This is truly one of the best thing to do in Tokyo. The hosts of the cafe are extremely friendly and took really good photos. The atmosphere in the cafe is peaceful and tranquil, me and my partner really enjoy the time of relaxation with the owls. I highly recommended this place, it is a great experience for everyone to have. The location is also great, super close to the Akihabara station. Come to this place if you have some time to spend in Tokyo!
We had such a great time here! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, I loved how calm and quiet the atmosphere was. You’re allowed to choose two owls to hold on your arm and gently pet the others. Some owls were “taking a break” and aren’t allowed to be touched or held. It made me feel like they make each owls happiness a priority. Strangely enough when we left we both felt happier and calmer after having such a fun and unique experience and we couldn’t stop smiling. Thank you !
This honestly was an amazing experience, and it made my traveling companions so happy to visit. I highly recommend reserving a slot at this cafe for the atmosphere, the amazing owls all around the space, and the caring staff here. The rest of my group does not understand Japanese, but they have staff that does speak English which made it a hundred times more better for us since there was no awkwardness in communication. The owls are really well taken care of, and are just amazing to look at as well as hold yourself. There is absolutely nothing that we did not like about the experience!
I've been to other animal cafes, owl cafe in particular and before coming to this place I didn't have high expectations because some of the cafes are just alright. They can be stuffy, the design is so so, etc. But I was mind-blown by the reviews for akiba fukurou and decided to visit. Owls looks wonderful, the rooms are so clean and tidy and the music really fits the atmosphere and there's just so much soul put into this place. Thank you for creating this cafe!
