  • Mitsubishi 1 kan is Japan's first office building, is a building of brick masonry structures were designed by the British architect Josiah Conder. Colonnades of brick buildings in Marunouchi after the completion of the Museum, but in great Kanto earthquake has exposed problems of seismic performance of the brick building. Anticipation of demand for Office by the high economic growth increased owner Mitsubishi Estate Co., was the cultural property from the country, but based on the redevelopment plan in March, 1968 (0/1968), was dismantled. Together with the adjacent "Mitsubishi Shoji building was constructed on the site, but in this century, from building 3 building plot is redeveloped as quotmarunouchi, Mitsubishi 1 building has been rebuilt. Old buildings was an office building, but is now operated as the Mitsubishi ichigokan Museum by Mitsubishi Estate. Some of the old-fashioned clock installed in the ceiling of the corridor of the hotel, including historic building materials reuse. Marunouchi Park building was established between the Mitsubishi ichigokan Museum Square, has become a place of rest and open cafes and shrubbery. I think retrofit and restoration of old buildings, not the replica reconstruction is a bit disappointing, but now want carved a new history.

  • Before the Mitsubishi ichigokan Museum grounds or the surrounding cafes and restaurants around the square. Town building in Marunouchi area the road is great, but jerk honoring the goodness square here. Is walking down the street or spend it better, or rest in the gardens of the brick building, at the café or tea is a blissful moment.

  • Just before the dash across to the Imperial Palace, there’s a little enclave called the Marunouchi Brick Square. I love this place because of a little secret garden in the middle of the square, surrounding by its buildings that are made out of bricks. It’s a peaceful respite from the busy streets outside and there’s even plenty of international brands including Joel Robuchon’s bakery cafe. It’s such a lovely place.
  • Lovely little square that evokes memories of London with the historical architecture, wooden decking and English garden. The basement and upper floor restaurants are better than the ones on ground level, which is a shame. The food and service at A16 (the pizzeria) in particular is dire. The sushi restaurant on B1 is great but almost always full, with long queues at lunch and dinner.
  • Recommend to have a short break here after a long walk around the Imperial Palace and Marunouchi area (Tokyo Station). This square is quiet yet lively. There are some dessert and restaurants in the area.
  • Nice place next to Mitsubishi building. Perfect for a quick bite or coffee places.
  • One of my favorite areas of central Tokyo. Drop by for a rest. Get something from the bakery shop.

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi.
