  • For a foreigner a must see as it is the oldest temple in Tokyo (built in 730), which is particularly known for bringing business luck.
  • Just minutes from busy Akihabara Kanda Myojin is an oasis of traditional culture most instructive to Western visitors. It was a delight to watch formally dressed families on a recent warm November sun...  more »
  • In one of the three great festivals of Tokyo Kanda Festival visited the Kanda Myojin. Mikoshi paraded around town and it is overflowing with vigor. And even when non-Festival, is one of the very, very like a shrine. Jinba precincts, peaceful and soothing.

  • Kanda Myojin was founded in 730.With its almost 1300years of history, the shrine is one of the oldest in Tokyo. There are many buildings around the shrine. Kanda Myojin are particularly efficacious for family happiness ,marriage, prosperity and success in business, recovery from illness, and protection against accidents and disasters, among many things!
  • It was the love live shrine when I went and I got to buy a limited edition tablet with Love Live shrine maidens on it. The artwork on the tablets that were hung up were really awesome. And while we were there on the weekend, we got to see part of a wedding as well. Pretty interesting experience to see such an anime oriented shrine.
  • Beautiful and a quiet shrine. Has a lot of red colour which makes it look lovely compared to the surroundings. Less crowded. You can see the sky tree from here.
  • Beautiful shrine, with great artwork for decoration. Busy (with locals and otakus from nearby Akihabara alike) yet quiet.
  • One of the most beautiful shrines we saw on out trip. Exquisitely detailed and meticulously maintained.
