Hotel New Otani, Chiyoda
(4.4/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
An oasis in the city with a large curving waterfall, Hotel New Otani provides tranquility in the midst of a busy district of Akasaka, with its carp pond and meticulously manicured greenery. Part of the hotel, but accessible to outside visitors, the garden features neatly trimmed shrubs, a red arched bridge, and many benches to sit and relax on. Designed in the 1960s and accentuating its natural features, the garden was once part of the 400-year-old former royal palace. Admire the tea house and the small zen garden, with raked sand features and stones. Hotel New Otani is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Tokyo Edition.

  • I've stayed at the Hotel New Otani many times, but every time I come to this hotel, I enjoy the beautiful Japanese Garden in this hotel, which was the residence of samurai lord Katō Kiyomasa 400 years...  more »
  • From morning to eat overlooking the garden came many times since I have a small child. While free to wander and play with carp and child like.

  • Dinner at the Chinese restaurant Taikan En always a great experience. All seating spacious with great service. Good with small children as well.
  • Full of character in mid-town Tokyo. Great rooms, fantastic options within complex and Otani Tawaa (tower) nearby. Great location. There's Pierre Herme and La Tour D'Argent too.
  • The hotel is very nice and some of the rooms have good views. It's not the most centrally located but that all depends on what you're after. The breakfast buffet is very good and rooms very clean. It also has a Japanese garden in the middle.
  • Very extravagant. Great place. Vert expensive
  • Once we drove up to the front, I could already tell this hotel was very classy. My view from my room is beautiful and it overlooks the city of Tokyo.
