Factory Outlet Shopping Mall
Do your shopping at Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari, an open-air mall featuring bargain prices on a large range of local and international brands. Just 30 minutes by train from Tokyo center, the mall sits next to a park and right by the bay. Hunt for deals, walking among many garden beds and graphics that create a natural urban atmosphere. Take a break at one of the food courts or restaurants and indulge in some tasty Japanese cuisine. Note that the mall does not feature a lot of foreign-language assistance. Put Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari and other Chiba attractions into our Chiba vacation planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Best time to visit outlet Malls is during weekday. It wasn't crowded at all when we came on a Tuesday. It is about 30mins train ride from Tokyo station via Keiyo Line. Not as good as the outlet Malls ...  more »

  • Great discount prices for women 50-80% but men usually 30-40% off. And not many xl-xxl men sizes available.
  • Located right next to the Kaihin Makuhari Station. It's expanded a lot over the past few years! The Mitsui Outlet chains are a little more expensive than the Premium Outlet chains, but it's way cheaper compares to the one in Kisarazu (and less crowded). The downside is that there's not a lot of places to eat aside from Maison Kayser but then there's Plena and other places nearby!
  • Big Outlet with lots of shops and brands. But for decent shopping you need to visit during sales. Otherwise it is not cheap.
  • Good selection of outlets, though sales seemed fewer than at bigger stores. Some nice bargains still.
  • I don't recommend shopping at this place if first, you have shopped in outlets in the U.S. several times or second, if you are not a fan of Japanese style clothes. Moreover, there are too many people shopping here on weekends. Too crowded and poor brands selections. Really disappointed with this outlet.

Where to stay in Chiba

The primary selection of accommodations in Chiba fans out from the city's central train station. In this tangle of streets you'll find good-quality, budget-friendly lodgings, including guesthouses and hostels. Expect more luxury by the water and where the streets get a little wider and newer, with grand hotels occupying commanding positions over the bay and along tree-lined boulevards. Alternatively, stay in Tokyo itself when exploring Chiba and the highlights of its prefecture.
