Zoo / Aquarium Nature / Park
Wide green spaces full of lush trees surround the animal enclosures at Chiba Zoological Park. Encounter a range of species here, from tropical two-toed sloths to lumbering elephants. Visit the children's zoo for direct contact with goats and sheep, stop in the aquatic zone to see sea lions, and join the crowds gathering around the shoe-billed stork. Don't miss the red pandas, the zoo's mascots, in the small animals zone. Arrive here via monorail for a high-tech experience of Japan; grab a meal in the onsite restaurant or enjoy a picnic in the green areas. Put Chiba Zoological Park and other Chiba attractions into our Chiba tourist route planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

Where to stay in Chiba

The primary selection of accommodations in Chiba fans out from the city's central train station. In this tangle of streets you'll find good-quality, budget-friendly lodgings, including guesthouses and hostels. Expect more luxury by the water and where the streets get a little wider and newer, with grand hotels occupying commanding positions over the bay and along tree-lined boulevards. Alternatively, stay in Tokyo itself when exploring Chiba and the highlights of its prefecture.

  • I'm sure they care for their animals, but most of the the cages just looked too small. We went round it in 90 mins. It was cheap to visit and the monorail trip from Chiba to the zoo was cool.  more »

  • Place was really nice, although I felt like there were limited quantity of animals in compare to other zoos I visited. There was no availability of English Map. I entered first to the "Fureai" area and my kid wanted to eat but at that area variety of food is limited (hot dog and pork), inside the zoo there are more options (soba, yakitori, fried potato, others) The area close to the small lagoon is very nice with (not many people go until this place) and there are many fishes which my kid really liked.
  • It is a small Zoo with few members of each animal. It was nice weather and we liked the green environment. 700 yen for parking and 700 yen adult entrance fee. Children are free of charge
  • Lots of space; nice staff; fun for kids.

  • Looks like the animal is like a sober, but not here. Four Otter especially here is cute! Bait can be seen eating a Loach living in times good catch with both hands. In addition, monkey, there are also featured here. On weekdays you can hand feed the sea lions.
