Yushima Seido, Bunkyo
(3.4/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Explore the Confucian temple of Yushima Seido, which introduced Confucian teachings to the culture and houses what is said to be the largest statue of Confucious in the world. Take a quiet, contemplative stroll around the peaceful but unruly garden, keeping an eye out for the famous pistacia chinensis tree, which was grown from a seed taken from a tree at Confucious' grave in China in 1915. Much quieter than surrounding shrines, you can expect some meditative time to yourself here, away from the bustle and crowds of the city. • According to the brochure, the fifth Shogun Tokugawa tsunayoshi of Confucianism to the 0/1690 (1690), water Island Church was established it. Dacheng Hall is a stately elegance in black. Is a pass through the door, Japan is different from different spaces. Inside is enshrined Confucius is humbled by the solemn atmosphere. Feel the dignity in every one of the exhibits. He had very good experiences. In free admission into from the front gate, St. bridge gate, West Gate, Dacheng Hall, Saturday, 200 yen admission fee is required at the opening of the holidays. And ask the staff and internal photography does not care about that.

  • The basilica was dedicated to Confucius. The atmosphere of the exotic buildings and gates are black, different from the shrine in Japan. Went on a weekday was closed at the back gate, but then Saturday we open at the back gate, put in at 300 yen. Things in tablets and statues of Confucius and his disciples. There is excessive water, container and put in the water fall flow. Do not greedily and antidotes, was undergoing a peaceful teachings of Confucius, has written that such a meaning. Like many visitors to pray for success as the God of learning.

  • Old Confucian Temple, which is rare in Japan. And so is the choice of black for all walls. Unique roof decoration, too. It's a very tranquil place, probably because it's surrounded by walls, and features a small park.
  • Confucius shrine, very simple and all black style. Interesting to visit as many other shrines tend to have flourishing gold, details and colors. There's also a statue of the master in the park.

  • The edge of the building are not entrerenus more than that. Not important une.esthetisation. This gives a crude appearance. He did not marchandeisation either: it is far from the temples and shrines. If so, Confucianism has influenced Japanese society, what remains of his representation of n is not at its height. However, to do nothing for the beautiful statue of Confucius.

  • Build a Confucius Temple instead of to Holy Temple built in the private residence (currently the Ueno Park) to ensure the promotion of Confucianism is the fifth Shogun, Tokugawa tsunayoshi, and Tokugawa 0/1690 (1690), Hayashi razan, Tokugawa tsunayoshi, it was renamed "Dacheng Hall". Including the building of a set that comes with it is called "Church". Then Shohei slope study place of the shogunate Government Shohei (would be:) became the Meiji government changed after Tokyo, Tsukuba University and Ochanomizu-also became the origin of the University, the academic birthplace of education.
