Yushima Seido, Bunkyo
Categories: Historic Sites, Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Explore the Confucian temple of Yushima Seido, which introduced Confucian teachings to the culture and houses what is said to be the largest statue of Confucious in the world. Take a quiet, contemplative stroll around the peaceful but unruly garden, keeping an eye out for the famous pistacia chinensis tree, which was grown from a seed taken from a tree at Confucious' grave in China in 1915. Much quieter than surrounding shrines, you can expect some meditative time to yourself here, away from the bustle and crowds of the city. Tea-water from the middle to the Pont du Gard. Right enshrined in yushima Temple a solemn atmosphere. Tea-located near the station. During the calm air surrounded by trees if it observes one step appears stately. Available weekends and holidays only main tour seemed, but was abandoned because it was 16:30 we arrived. Confucius shrine, very simple and all black style. Interesting to visit as many other shrines tend to have flourishing gold, details and colors. There's also a statue of the master in the park.
